David Pablo Cohn sent an update to the Skyranger list and has agreed to share his project's project with us:

Those of you who have been following the saga of NC33395's restoration will have lost count, but we're now closing in on the 9th year of our 9-month restoration project. I was out at Calaveras just this afternoon, and here's the scary bit - we're almost there. Andrew and Steve fired up the overhauled Continental (with the old prop) earlier this week, and everything looked good. If all goes well, we're hoping to take a test flight next Friday. "Hope" might not be the right word. Andrew and Steve are hoping for it to be ready for me to take it for a test hop. Me? I'm terrified.

Really, all that needs to be done before she's airworthy is put on the wing root fairings, the nose bowl and the for-real prop, then taxi her to the end of the runway and start doing some tests. Yikes!
