The annual MAAG Fly-In was this past Saturday at Wiebe Field in Halstead, Kansas.  The Fly-In is held in conjunction with the Old Settlers Days in Halstead.  For the tenth year in the row, a flight down main street by about 16 antique and classic airplanes kicked off the parade Saturday morning.  Prior to the flight, everyone enjoyed a pancake and sausage breakfast.

We had nearly 60 airplanes on the flight line this year as the weather was the best in a long time.  Temperatures in the 80's and light winds beckoned over 200 people to the airport for a lot of food, fun, friendship, and flying.

Airplanes were judged in 4 categories and the winners are:

  • Best Antique:  Jim Wiebe - Interstate
  • Best Classic:  Victor Riffle - L-19
  • People's Choice:  Dick Curtis - Fokker Tri-plane Replica
  • Best of Show:  Tony Martinez - Super Cub

Thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this a success! Here are a few pictures to tantalize you into joining us next year!
