A group of over a half dozen Stanley Steamer cars paid a visit to Antique Airfield on Tuesday during their “Iowa Steamin’ Hot Tour 2012”. We hope the drivers, crew and passengers got a chance to go through the APM as they were besieged with questions and inquiries from the Fly-in attendees. The cars, ranging from 1908 to 1922, were a fascinating study in technology and innovation from the early 1900’s.
The first Stanley Steamer to arrive was this 1911 model. That’s Cindy Reis’s Model A Ford in the background.
A crowd gathers around this 1922 Stanley Steamer.
