These aircraft are replicas of a 1917 Fokker DR.1 (triplane), 1918 D VII (biplane) and 1918 D VIII (monoplane). Pilots are reported to be Mark Holliday, Andrew King & Bob Coolbaugh.
The Vintage Aero Flying Museum will also have, besides the airplane, a display featuring the personal effects (uniform, decorations etc.) of James Norman Hall, a native of Colfax, IA. Hall served with both the Lafayette Escadrille and the 94th Aero Sqd. in WWI. He is also known as the co-author of Mutiny on the Bounty.
These aircraft are featured in Mission Dawn Patrol, a movie about flying the replicas from Colorado to the US Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, which will be showing at Runway Cinema on Friday.
