Addison Pemberton at Felts Field, Spokane, WA writes: Thanks to Jon Nace we now have perfect alignment of our Waco EQC-6 gear and new tight oleo seals and bushings. Jon made patch plates that we were able to weld on the outside of the gear tube so as to allow radial adjustment of the internal spline.

We dropped a plumb bob from the center of the airplane and shot a laser to the tail post. We then clamped 6 ft angles to the brake disks and were able to set the alignment perfect before tack welding the plate in place. The alignment is within .060" in a 3 ft radius of the wheel. The fuse on the gear pushes in the hanger with one finger. We placed butcher paper under the wheels, loaded the airplane, and pushed to find no paper wrinkling. Yea.

The airplane is coming out of the paint booth soon to begin final assembly. We spent 150 hours in the paint booth and sanding this month. Should fly in one more year!
