Today was sunny and clear, but high and gusty direct crosswinds forced a closure of the runway this afternoon at Antique Airfield. Arrivals diverted to Ottumwa which has a runway aligned for northwest winds. As the wind died down in the evening Antique Airfield reopened.
The good news is that the windy conditions dried out the field and calm winds and sun are expected for Saturday. We're looking forward to seeing the diverted arrivals along with new arrivals Saturday morning.
