Air Mail Days Cover Store

To celebrate the 2008 90th anniversary of the Air Mail Service, the Antique Aircraft Association re-enacted air mail flights from Antique Airfield at the 2008 National Fly-in Air Mail Days. Flown postal covers were carried on these flights, and they are available for purchase.

Each cover is postmarked as noted below. Covers are sold un-addressed. Flights were flown during all 4 days of the Air Mail Days event. The covers have drawings of historic Air Mail aircraft, some of which actually flew the routes. There were only 2000 covers flown throughout the event, or 500 per day.

The routes flown were between Antique Airfield, the home of the Antique Aircraft Association, historic Ottumwa Naval Air Station (OTM) and historic Smith Field in Iowa City (IOW), one of the original stops on the first transcontinental air mail route.
