Handicapped Parking It is our policy to make every effort to assist those with handicaps or health problems to park in the areas close to AAA headquarters or the APM. It would help us help you in this regard if you write us in advance for the required car permit so you will not have to make the trip up to the registration area for such a pass. So if you need a handicapped parking permit, please register in advance and inform us of your needs in this regard. Camping Information CAUTION: Those camping in the north campground are urged to check trees in camp sites for dead or dying trees or dead limbs prior to setting up camp sites. All RV and camping units must register at the AAA headquarters office and then proceed to their proper areas. The camping chairmen will have the final authority as to what kind of vehicle must go to the RV area and those who are allowed to camp in the conventional campgrounds. No camping units will be allowed access prior to registration and guards will turn back such vehicles until properly registered. RV AREA: A special area has been established for large RV's and has grown in popularity. This RV area will have good access with even terrain for easy parking. Transportation to and from the main Fly-In areas will be provided. This area is also close to the south shower house. Vendors and Display Booths If you are interested in a sales booth in the main hangar, write AAA/APM, 22001 Bluegrass Road, Ottumwa, IA 52501, or call 641-938-2773, and a form and information will be sent to you promptly. If you wish to consign aircraft items or be an outside vendor, request this data also. A 10X10 booth space in the main hangar is only $50.00 for the entire Fly-In. Larger outside space, same price. On arrival contact Mike Gretz, Airpower Museum President, who chairs this activity. APM Fly-Market Early arrivals are needed who can sort out saleable material that has come in during the past year, plus going through many boxes and shelves so far untouched as more "Goodies" can be offered for sale. Harman Dickerson is the Chairman of the Fly-Market. Fly-In Food and Drink The South Hy-Vee Store will be back to cater meals and snacks in the 24th Fighter Squadron Mess Hall starting on Wednesday morning up through noon Monday, Labor Day. A wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals will be served. Saturday evening will feature their popular steak and chop night. They will also provide ice and some other carryout grocery items. APM Gift Shop The APM Gift Shop Chairlady is Gloria Gaskill. Doris Gretz will also be back this year to help Gloria. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help Gloria and Doris in the Gift Shop would be most welcome. Aircraft Fuel Services Once again, the folks from Ottumwa Flying Service will provide fuel (100LL) service at Antique airfield during the Fly-In. The fuel truck will be parked east of Hangar #1 (furthest building to the east) and you will have to taxi your aircraft to the truck for fuel. Steve Black, AAAM-17481, and his crew will be on hand during the following hours.
Pilot's Pub Join the Lancaster's, Teri and Mark, Luke Pieper and their minions as they once again serve up cold drinks and hangar flying at the Pilot's Pub each night, Wednesday through Sunday, 6 pm to midnight. Pilot's Pub specialties are yet to be announced but will certainly include Tropical Shirt Night (Saturday, August 30). Pilot's Pub koozies will once again be available by popular demand. |
